Victoria Crescent Trunk Storm Sewer Replacement

A Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) has been completed to address the severe deterioration of the Victoria Crescent Trunk Storm Sewer. The storm sewer has insufficient cover and the overall condition of the aging sewer is extremely poor. This Class EA considered various options and the preferred alternative was to replace the trunk storm sewer in a new location just north of the existing alignment. The Clean Water and Wastewater Fund (CWWF) is a federal-provincial program designed to accelerate short-term community investments while supporting the rehabilitation and modernization of drinking water, wastewater & stormwater infrastructure, and the planning and design of future facilities and upgrades to existing systems. The Township has received funding from the CWWF for this project which is expected to be constructed in the summer/fall of 2023.

The lands we know today as the Township of Centre Wellington have been home to Indigenous peoples since time immemorial. We acknowledge that we are on the treaty lands and traditional territory of the Anishinaabe and the Haudenosaunee.With increasing encroachment by non-Indigenous settlers in the Township of Centre Wellington, the Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee could not continue their traditional lifestyle and settled in their villages along the Credit River and in the Grand River Valley. These Indigenous nations uphold their Treaty Rights within our jurisdiction.
