Construction Updates
Updates will be posted to this section of the webpage as new developments are made.
Project Description
The Township has planned for the reconstruction of Colborne Street from John Street to the west leg of Wilson Crescent in Elora. This project has several aspects driving its replacement including upgrading water infrastructure to accommodate future developmental and capacity requirements, upgrades to the stormwater system to account for the newly developed climate change model and upgrading the sanitary sewer to accommodate future development flows. The reconstruction also provides an opportunity to upgrade the road structure to an urban cross-section, which will include curb and gutter and the connection of the sidewalk on the south side of the street from John Street to the west of Wilson Crescent.
This project is scheduled to begin in late spring of 2025 and be completed by December 2025.
During construction, Colborne Street between John Street and Wilson Crescent will be closed to through traffic. In general, local access to properties will be maintained, however, short-duration restrictions may occur from time to time based on construction activities. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. Whenever possible, advanced notice will be provided by the contractor in the event access to your property will be temporarily affected.
